La primera quincena de Agosto ha sido demoledora para el Ibex y para el mercado Europeo y algo menos mala para el mercado americano. A cierre del día 16 Maver-21 ha caído un 4,42% frente al 6,75% de nuestro índice de referencia (valor liquidativo de 8,94 al cierre del día 16 de Abril).
Pese a haberlo hecho mejor que el índice de referencia, lo cierto es que no estamos contentos porque habíamos preparado la cartera para una potencial caída y sin embargo estamos cayendo más de lo que pensábamos por tres motivos:

1) El dólar no lo está haciendo bien frente al euro como cabía esperar ante el aumento de la prima de riesgo de España e Italia
2) Algunos de nuestros valores están teniendo mal comportamiento. Por ejemplo, Gannett o de Genworth que hoy cae cerca de un 20%
3) Nuestro valores financieros no se han comportado bien en esta primera parte del mes, aunque tras ver los resultados de Citi, Goldman seguimos creyendo que es el sector a tener.

¿Qué hemos hecho durante estos días? Básicamente hemos aumentado nuestras coberturas en el S&P500 porque el Viernes vencen las que tenemos en Abril, para financiar estas coberturas aprovechamos subidas de volatilidad en USA para vender opciones fuera del dinero sobre el VIX que están muy bien pagadas.
También hemos vendido puts sobre algunos valores que han caído con fuerza: Career Educational Corp, ITT Educational, Gannett, Genworth y Pulte Group
En Europa hemos aprovechado las caídas de mercado para vender puts sobre SX5E e Ibex (en el párrafo siguiente detallaremos la estrategia que vamos a emplear en Europa)

¿Qué vamos a hacer en el futuro? Principalmente mantener la calma. Seguimos creyendo mucho en la recuperación de USA, es por eso por lo que aprovecharemos caídas para aumentar la exposición que tenemos, primero vendiendo puts y más adelante comprando las acciones si estas cayeran a los niveles en los que vendemos las puts. Creemos que tenemos una muy buena cartera, que nuestros retornos van a ser más que aceptables y para mejorarlos queremos comprar lo más bajo posible.

Seguimos creyendo que Europa va a seguir comportándose peor que USA y es por ello que en Europa no vamos a vender puts sobre acciones, ni vamos a comprar acciones directamente salvo que veamos el Ibex por debajo del 6500 y al DJ Euro Stoxx por debajo del 2100.
El mayor riesgo de este mercado nos hace exigir un mayor colchón de seguridad y de ahí hemos obtenido estos niveles que indicamos. No sabemos si veremos esos niveles pero la idea que tenemos es primero vender puts sobre índices sobre esos niveles con idea de ir acumulando prima y promediando a la baja, para que si al final ocurren caídas muy profundas comprar Europa y España a través de índices o acciones a niveles mucho más bajos de los actuales. El objetivo sería comprar Ibex a una media de no más de 6.000 y DJ Euro Stoxx 50 de no más de 2.000, niveles que creemos nos reportarían jugosos beneficios a medio plazo.

Nuestra exposición de la SICAV al mercado es de alrededor de un 75% y de un 25% favorable al dólar frente al euro.
